Dr. Cara Yang Kataria is a technical staff member in the RF Technology Group. She designs and characterizes antennas for a variety of platforms, including air vehicles, satellites, and small mobile devices. Her research interests include ultrawideband antennas and arrays, as well as techniques for physical layer security.
Kataria has a diverse background in RF and mixed-signal electrical engineering design. While at Apple Inc., she owned the audio electrical design for multiple generations of Mac products and has co-authored patents related to headset circuit design and system grounding practices. As a console motherboard design engineer with the Xbox team at Microsoft, she worked on improving the signal integrity of high-speed digital busses.
Kataria received MS and PhD degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the Electromagnetics Lab at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where her research focused on antennas for polarization diversity and modulation schemes for secure communications. She received AB and BEngs degrees from Dartmouth College.
