Tom Roy

Tom Roy currently serves as the Associate Leader of the Applied Space Systems Group within the Space Systems & Technology Division at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of flight development programs for remote sensor systems supporting government and industry partners. He currently leads the Tomorrow.io Microwave Sounder program at Lincoln Laboratory, a cooperative research agreement with Tomorrow.io that includes the technology transfer of the Laboratory’s microwave sounder technology developed under the TROPICS program.

Prior to this work, Roy developed operational prototypes for spaceborne missions focused on astrophysics, planetary science, and electric propulsion. He earned an MS degree in robotics engineering and an MS degree in mechanical engineering, both from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He also holds a BS degree in physics from Clark University.
